Painting on Float Glass

In reading about painting on float glass, I have one question, if I might bother you with it...
You are not to paint on the tin side of float glass, yet I read you are to fire the glass with the tin side up. Would you not want to fire it with the painted side up? Am I being dumb or is this a bit contradictory?

Thank you for the information on your website. I look forward to receiving your e-zine.

Milly's reply: I must've made a mistake somewhere, my apologies. If you could let me know where, I'll change it. Thanks.

tin side down

I've been fusing for quite a while and saw this post. I have always understood the tin side should be sown. The tin side is better protected from air if it is down.

Check this link and others to confirm.

Milly's reply: Hi John, thanks for your helpful information. I hope I've cleared this up by taking my confusing comments out! Yes, tinned side down all the time... except with silver nitrate, which works really well on the tinned side.
