Painting With Glass Frit

My art project is somewhat unique. It uses glass frit, so I thought to ask...
I would like to glue colored glass frit to a mirror, similar to sand paintings that many of us did as children. The sand paintings were always flat, one dimensional. To create dimension and texture, I would like to add "peaks and valleys" on the mirror before adding the glass frit. What should I use? An epoxy? A gel? The product should be clear so that the light still reflects off the mirror. The product should preferably be in a bottle or squeeze tube, making it easier to "paint."

Milly's reply: Wow, that sounds like some project, Stephen! I've never done anything with glass frit that isn't fired, so I'm no expert here. How about trying some of the transparent silicons that you can buy in a squeeze tube, and try building it up for your 'peaks'? There are some really sophisticated glues around now, so go to your local building supplier/ironmonger and ask them.
I think you'll have a bit of trouble with the small glass frit in terms of transparency, as it is opaque.
I'd be interested to see how you get on - or if anyone out there has tried something like this - let me know? Thanks.
